What types of cookies does Playwaze use?
Strictly Necessary Cookies. These cookies are essential, as they enable you to move around the Service and use its features, such as accessing logged in or secure areas.
Functionality Cookies. These cookies allow us to remember how you’re logged in, and the options you have set. They help us to tailor the Service to provide enhanced features and content for you. The information these cookies collect may be anonymous, and they are not used to track your browsing activity on other sites or services.

Cookies are small text files containing a string of characters that can be placed on your computer or mobile device that uniquely identify your browser or device. Cookies allow a site or services to know if your computer or device has visited that site or service before. Cookies can then be used to help understand how the site or service is being used, help you navigate between pages efficiently, help remember your preferences, and generally improve your browsing experience.
The length of time a cookie will stay on your computer or mobile device depends on whether it is a “persistent” or a “session” cookie. Session cookies will only stay on your device until you stop browsing. Persistent cookies stay on your computer or mobile device until they expire or are deleted.
You can choose to enable or disable Cookies in your internet browser. By default, most internet browsers accept Cookies, but this can be changed. For further details, please consult the help menu in your internet browser.
You can choose to delete Cookies at any time. However, you may lose any information that enables you to access the Application more quickly and efficiently including, but not limited to, personalisation settings.

When you register on Playwaze you’ll need to provide us with some basic registration data. The only mandatory fields you need to provide are your name, an email address, and a password. These enable your account in Playwaze.
You can provide more data through your My Details page, allowing you to present a richer profile of yourself to other community members e.g. your social media links, a photo, telephone number and a bio description. These are optional – so just fill them in if you want.
Nobody outside of your Playwaze community can see your profile data. Your community administrator can also choose to ‘Hide personal data’ within your community so that the only data about you that is visible is your name.
If you are joining a community or network managed by one of our organisation clients they may want to collect some extended data from you that is required for membership in their communities e.g. a membership number or a student id.
This extended data may be used to manage your eligibility e.g. for competition entries. It may also be passed onto the client hosting the community you are joining. We’ll always tell you this at the time of providing the data and make it clear what it is going to be used for. You will always have the option to decline.
When someone visits www.playwaze.com we use a third party service called Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Here’s how we let our community members know about our email mailing list:
As part of the Playwaze registration process, we give you the option of subscribing to our Newsletter, which provides updates about new Playwaze features, tips on getting the most out of your Playwaze community, and news about how people are using Playwaze. We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
Emails and app notifications
When you join a community you may start to receive emails and / or app notifications from that community. These may be automatic notifications e.g. for session reminders or messages sent from other community members e.g. chat threads. Your community administrator(s) sets any automated notification schedules. Playwaze does not use community emails or app notifications for marketing purposes.
Access to your personal information
You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold on you. You can do this by editing your profile through the My Details menu option under your user name.
Deleting your account
There are two levels of removal in Playwaze
- Removing from a community
- Removing from Playwaze
If you no longer want to be a member of a particular community you can click the “Leave Community” button. You’ll retain your underlying Playwaze account but all your data will be removed from that community, and you will no longer receive any notifications from it.
Note – you cannot remove yourself from a community if you are the Primary Contact for it. You should hand over this role to someone else in your community before removing yourself. You can do this through Community Settings.
You can delete your Playwaze account at any time by clicking on “Delete My Account” in My Details. This will remove you from any communities and fully remove your account from Playwaze.
