About
Stevenage Cycling Hub HAPpy sessions will of course be Bikeability cycling themed. The participants must be 9 years or older (in school year 5, 6 or 7). Children will be physically active for at least 3 hours per day.
They do not need to own a cycle in order to attend the sessions but there are limited numbers of available cycles so please book a cycle on the booking form.
The session runs from 10am to 3pm.
Please ensure that your youngster is suitably dressed for cycling whatever the weather (sunscreen/waterproofs etc) - the instructors will only stop a session in the case of thunder and lightning. Also please ensure that their bike is roadworthy (2 working brakes, air in the tyres, etc). Wearing a cycle helmet is strongly recommended, however if the trainee does not wish to wear one then please let us know in writing.
Please meet at the Stevenage Cycling Hub 10 minutes before the designated start time.
Note that parents/guardians are not able to stay and observe, as the session takes place at various locations around Stevenage. The trainees will return to the Cycling Hub at about 3pm.
The Cycling Hub is in Fairlands Valley Park, Six Hills Way, Stevenage, SG2 0BL.
We are in the old boathouse next to the Millennium lake (the next lake along from the main sailing lake). The map on our website (https://www.stevenagecyclinghub.co.uk/) shows where we are. Alternatively, you can use the 'what3words' app or website using 'bride.speeds.item' (https://what3words.com/bride.speeds.item).
There is a large car park next to the main park entrance on Six Hills Way - it is a 5 minute walk to the Cycling Hub from there. There is also some parking by the cafe at the end of the road down from the main entrance - this is much closer to the Cycling Hub.
Should you need to contact us on the day, please use the following phone number: 07810 385355
If you have any questions, or require any more information, please get in touch.
